Ellen Tracy GIVEAWAY!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas holiday spending time with family and friends! Just last week I noticed my blog reached 100 followers(!), so I want to thank you all for giving me one of the best Christmas presents ever! Most importantly, you all inspire me to follow my dreams, and for that I am so grateful
To celebrate, I am so excited to be hosting my very first giveaway open internationally to win a gorgeous Ellen Tracy tee! The sequin detailing along the sleeve and neckline makes this tee a statement piece within itself and is one of the reasons why, along with the fact that I just can't get over how luxuriously soft the semi-sheer fabric is and the way it drapes perfectly in all the right ways for a fit that's not too tight and not too loose, I really love it- it's the perfect way to add a little sparkle to your outfit! (see how I styled it here

outfit of the day 8

yellow diamonds in the light...

(vintage sweater, American Apparel button down, Forever21 leggings, Teen Vogue messenger bag, Steve Madden oxfords)

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! ♥ I love this holiday because it is time when everyone can really enjoy each other's company in the warmth of delicious food on the table, laughter and cheer. That's why I believe it should be celebrated everyday of the year because we can sometimes get caught up with the fast pace of reality, so it's nice to slow down and remember all the simple things in life that make us happy. And yes, for the obvious reason that cannot be denied any longer, I am grateful for this holiday because that means the next day brings with it Black Friday! (See, I'm getting excited already :) For those of you not familiar with this special day, stores across the nation have huge sales and you have the opportunity to score amazing deals, that is, with a little perseverance and planning of course ;)

I love chunky knits and sweaters because they are so soft and cozy, making them the perfect staple during the cold winter months and a great alternative to big, puffy jackets. I really love the soft yellow cream hue of this sweater so much that lately, I can't help but wear it on repeat. Similarly, my mind about leggings has totally changed from what I once felt was too "body hugging" to a recent obsession of mine as a perfect alternative to jeans. To create a more dressed up look to my otherwise casual outfit, I paired it with a cream corduroy button down, slipped on my Steve Madden oxfords and with cha-ching in hand, ready to hit the road shopping.

versace x h&m

{images via British Vogue}

As many of you fashionistas might know, the launch of the Versace for H&M collection is finally(!!!) here (in the U.S, that is) after much long-awaited anticipation and I think I happily speak for everyone when I say that it did. not. disappoint. This astounding collection ranging from bold red dresses to sequined silk skirts just literally blows me away over and over again, so it definitely goes without saying how much it would mean to me to be able to own a coveted piece from the brilliant designer that is Donatella Versace herself. However, I am happily content just to be able to browse through her one-of-a-kind designs and as a tribute to celebrate one of fashion history's unforgettable moments, wanted to share a college I made of the top ten items I would love to have!

 3. silk skirt $129
6. gilet $69.95
9. leather dress $299

american apparel warehouse sale

Took advantage of the Veteran's Day holiday today and (despite the rainy weather) hit the American Apparel warehouse sale the second time this week for more amazing deals! When I first heard of it, I literally had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming that this high street fashion brand would be marking their coveted items up to 90% off since they can be a bit pricey. Nevertheless, I was amazed at their wide range of trendy, stylish and vintage collection and spent a good three hours there scouring every rack of the store to return home with a bag full of amazing clothes at amazing deals!  And if it wasn't anymore obvious, documented this day with a so-called app known as Instagram that I now have a slight- okay maybe a huge- obsession with (;

1. front entrance to the store
2. sale flyer
3. inside shot of the massive shopping area
GOODIES(!):
4. cream corduroy long sleeve button up
5. black crop top w/ orange detailing
6. dijon mustard circle vest
7. sheer lace top
8. American Apparel bag

Have an amazing weekend! xx
p..s- Thanks for all my new followers! We made it to 70+! 100? (:

outfit of the day 7

falls perfectly into place

(Forever21 shirt, Urban Outfitters jeans, Forever21 top, Teen Vogue messenger bag, Coach sandals)

Wow, October really flew by fast and so much has happened since then. I know this is late, but I wanted to take the time to acknowledge the creative genius that was Steve Jobs and his incomparable contributions that really allowed technology to evolve like never before. It makes me feel really proud to just live in the present moment because to be honest, I depend on Apple products so much, so when I first heard the news, it really hit me hard but he will be always be remembered in my heart for continually pushing the limits to make even better discoveries... Rest In Peace: Steve Jobs
On a fashionable note, I'm excited to have been receiving more emails than usual lately about blogging related things... one of which was a new online marketplace called "the cools" which I was invited to be a private beta member of! I'm really excited be a part of this growing fashion community and this concept of buying and selling in a place that's customized for your style. Sign up to be on the email list here so that you'll be the first to know when it's open to everyone!
Also, we can't forget about today's outfit and one that has to be my most favorite look on the blog, which is pretty funny considering that it all kind of came together by accident yet complements each other so well! So I got both the shirt and top at a Forever21 sale while out shopping last weekend at my favorite and I believe one of the largest, shopping mall which basically has all my favorite brands as outlet stores all under one roof... you really can't get any better than that (: I really wanted something different and it took me hours before I finally stumbled upon this vintage-like, chiffon top in a light raspberry shade I adore. As I was painstakingly (it's really almost impossible to find one that's in perfectly good condition and the perfect size among piles of clothing add dozens of other shoppers bustling around) trying to find my next item to fulfill the "buy one get one free of equal or lesser value" sale. The next thing I found was was what I thought to be a sheer cape garment... but actually turned out to be a skirt. But hey, it didn't look so bad as a cape but decided it wasn't worth the money if I couldn't wear it for its real purpose as a skirt since it was too large. After another hour of searching, I found a white chiffon top that even though was a bit on the large side, was immediately sold when I saw the pretty detailing along the front, neckline and sleeves. As I was putting together my outfit today, it didn't hit me until later that they were both look amazing paired together! Add a pair of Urban Outfitters jeans my mom get for me a couple of days ago and neon blue Coach sandals also from my mom and you get what I call: new vintage!
To end this super long post, I just wanted to wish those who celebrate the October 31 holiday a Happy Halloween; plans to catch up on fashion blogs and cozying up with hot cocoa are on my list and maybe even go trick-or-treating! (;

outfit of the day 6

change of plans

(H&M top, Forever21 skirt, Steve Madden oxfords, Forever21 necklace)

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I've been MIA this past week. Do you ever have those frustrating, stressful moments when you feel there is just not too little time in the day to fit your already hectic schedule? Uh over here.. I literally had no time whatsoever and spent every single minute I had studying for test after test... which sometimes still isn't enough. And if things weren't stressful enough, add to that being late to class several times this week because of horrible MUNI service AND slight problems here and there. Now that the weekend's finally here, I am so glad to finally have the opportunity to catch up on some much needed rest before starting yet another hectic week. But if there's anything I learned, I know that it isn't humanly possible to live through anything in life perfectly and that there will be bumps in the road here and there, but what's important is that you always stay true to yourself and never stop following your heart. With that said, here is the return of my Steve Madden floral oxfords(!) paired with a Forever21 skirt whose print I just adore. However, I'm not really a big fan of super formal dressing for day to day events, so I decided to pair it with a simple yet chic top from H&M with a feather necklace accessory. Yep, still taking every moment I can get as this sudden heat wave starts to subside to dress for the warm, gorgeous weather! Have a fabulous weekend everyone and an amazing week! xx
